The Queens Birthday Ball (QBB), hosted by the British Chamber of Commerce Korea (BCCK), celebrated Queen Elizabeth IIs 90th birthday with a large-scale charity event. The entire branding and spatial visual design were overseen, focusing on delivering a sophisticated and immersive experience inspired by Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Held at the Fairmont Hotel Seoul, the event gathered over 300 global diplomats and corporate leaders.

Design Concept
  • This year’s theme drew inspiration from British author Roald Dahl’s iconic story Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, shifting from the usual “Britain” focus to a narrative-driven, magical experience.
  • The design process aimed to avoid childish or overly playful motifs, opting for simplified, elegant graphics.
  • The primary colors featured deep purple tones combined with golden-yellow accents representing the “Golden Ticket,” creating a luxurious atmosphere.
  • Event hosts wore themed costumes, reinforcing a cohesive visual storytelling throughout the event.

Experiential & Brand Collaboration Design
  • To enhance guest immersion, a collaboration with the British chocolate brand Dairy Milk provided custom event goodies and chocolates to all attendees.
  • Additional British brands, including a premium popcorn company, ice cream trucks, and alcoholic beverages, enriched the sensory experience.
  • Table centerpieces were crafted as candy and dessert floral arrangements, harmonizing with the event’s whimsical theme.
  • Entrance tickets featured hidden Golden Tickets integrated with chocolate-themed designs, which tied into a Lucky Draw event that engaged guests uniquely.

Branding & Spatial Visual Design
  • Curated brands relevant to the theme, including chocolates, desserts, beverages, and fashion accessories.
  • Designed immersive booths and spatial layouts to boost guest engagement and thematic consistency.
  • Partnered with sponsors aligned with the charity event’s mission to reinforce messaging and visitor experience.
